10.2 CR, boost and detnation.

Ok, i'm sticking a first GEN b16a in my CRX to be turbocharged with a stage 2(t3/to4e) revhard kit. The engine comes stock with 10.2 compression ratio. my goals are to run 9 psi boost on the street with pump 94 oct gas and 12-14PSI with race gas.

Soo.. do i need to lower my compression to run 12-14 psi with race gas? fuel and timming will be taken care of by big injectors and a zdyne.

Encino, I think you're just gonna have to try it and see. The ZDYNE unit is the best way to tune as far as I can tell. You might only be able to run 10psi...or maybe 15. The temperature will probably determine that every day. At least you can vary boost without lifting the hood.

With tight tuning... I would say this can be done. Remember that the tuning window is narrow here... you won't get to make too many mistakes before your engine is mortally wounded.

Your right at the 9 psi octane limit...

If you plan to bump the boost to 15 psi, with 10.2 static compression, you better plan on GOOD racing fuel...

At least VP C-14...
